Yesterday, 40 STONE's recordings for the upcoming demorelease started. After months of preparation and hard work, it was time to plug in the drummics...it took some effort in finetuning the drumsound and all, but Lex (a true soundengineer) and Bor pulled it off bigtime. Here are a couple of shots... Next up will be Lex recording his demonic guitarriffs within a couple of weeks. Be sure to revisit this site for updates!

Het nummer SUNDAY van 40 STONE staat op de splinternieuwe CD "Nederland rockt", uitgegeven door PromoceR, een platenlabel uit het noorden des lands. Verder op de CD staan 20 andere bands met elk één rocknummer, voor elk wat wils dus.

40 STONE's just started warming up and preparing for upcoming demo-recordings, aka preproduction. We will post any usefull MP3 in a couple of weeks, presumably on myspace...just to give you all a touch of what we are about in 2K8!
Another issue is that we crave for playing live more then ever. So in other words: that won't take months...be sure to check www.40stone.com on a regular basis dudes!!

Update: Tough and challenging as it is, the 40 Stone-members are well-on-their-way creating new songs, an absolute time-consuming and creative masterplan being put into action for all four members :)...40 STONE will record and put one or two online in the very near future, so be sure to revisit this site or miss out on all the action...

Other breaking news is that 40 STONE's song Sunday will be remastered and released by a new dutch label from Holland, featuring other up-and-coming dutch rockbands...more news will follow shortly.

Ohyeah, the 40 Stoners had their first rehearsal after holidays and it was awesome to see the old magic happening again!!
Bor explains: "...we still have tons of work to do before we can hit a stage because we decided to renew our setlist for the most part. What that means for us is that we have to write and create new songs pretty much from scratch. This is in our case a time-consuming process which could take months, but then we knew it was the only way to move to the next level, you know, as artists ...
We are also very serious on how the new stuff has to sound and what we are trying to "say" with our music. I think we learn from older songs, what is and what is not working for us on stage and on recordings, stuff like that.
But I'm very confident we get to that level and enjoy it even more hahaha... cheers, Bor"

Update: The 40 STONErs are sweating bullets for a couple of weeks now, just to provide to you a buncha awesome new songs and then some!!! But then, hey you all know that creating things in just a couple of days is an unmatched skill posessed by the Big One up there....

Mau and Lex just finished a pre-mixing session at Excess Studios, with engineer Dennis at a 110...
Next week our friends the Longplayers will sort-of put their effort into it all, followed by Hollowlands' Rob who is taking care of dubbing "Sunday" as a special bonus-track! We will also be planning a photoshoot soon, and explore the remote possibility of shooting a videoclip...

Mark from rockband Dissension invited 40 STONE for a festival (In Dutch "Bevrijdingsfestival") in MUSICON the Hague on the 5th of May 2006.

Other confirmed bands are Dissension, 7even and Doll House Drama.

Our website-developer DRUMWORKS and the webmaster of 40 STONE are on the virge of releasing the definate version of this site, which now still has been a mere BETA version, and thus only visible to this point by a handful of people.

In a couple of weeks the ALPHA version is expected to be launched in full!
